To be successful in todays project management arena,
project managers need a structured, systematic approach to project management. PLG
training and mentoring provides the tools and techniques for each broad phase of project
management. Training and mentoring is intended for those looking to learn new skills or
update existing ones to successfully manage projects.
A clients project management criteria tends to vary from business to business,
however, there is typically common ground that reinforces the need for training and
mentoring:
- matrix management environment
- multi-project organization
- multiple project managers
- project management may not be considered a core competency
- lack of consistency (methods, processes, tools), focus, discipline
- some level of frustration- project managers, functional managers
Project management training and mentoring effectively covers that common ground by
supporting the following objectives:
- improve project management skills
- visible, consistent methods
- understanding of why projects fail
- higher success rate, improved results
- greater confidence and trust
PLG will work with the client to understand the need and criteria for project
management training and mentoring. PLG leaders have project management experience in both
industry and the classroom. A training and mentoring outline will be developed with and
for the client that addresses needs and requirements to raise the bar on project
management performance.
